The Depth and Simplicity that is Spirituality

The Depth and Simplicity that is Spirituality

There are many who are wary about the growing ‘Spiritual’ population and all kinds of terms have been used to describe it, such as New Agey, Airy-fairy and even Hocus-pocus. Naturally, all of this comes from a total lack of understanding of it and fair […]

The Spirit of Water

Heed Your Inner Voice

Heed Your Inner Voice

Once I began heeding my inner voice things began to fall in place. Looking back, I can only be grateful for all those painful events in my life as I see now what I needed to learn. Of course, if I had known then that there was a purpose, things would have been great, but that is part of the drama of life. The moving from I AM NOT to I AM. It taught me to make the connection of why things happened when they did, not only to me, but in the world in general. I learned to value my multi-cultural upbringing for the deeper understanding it has given me of life, of Oneness. I am grateful now that I was strong enough to live my truth in being who I was rather than conform to what I could not resonate with. It has relevance for me today as I walk my path of experiential growth, thinking out of the box in being able to ‘see’ the pluses and minuses of what structured society has become, where we are going.

Looking back, I cannot find one episode in my life that has no meaning, for I can connect it to the larger Self that I have become, to who I AM. Of course, things didn’t always happen in a smooth way and sure I went off course quite a bit! But it brought me to deeper levels of understanding and also deeper levels of awareness of what I now choose not to be.

At every stage in my life when I have felt, wow, how much I have learnt, I see now how little I knew then; but it brought me to where I am, so I needed to be in that space then and feel good about it. Similarly, it shows me daily that I am still growing, for we never stop. What I did then prepared me for today and what I AM today will stand me in good stead tomorrow. That is the way it is.

I found I was ‘connecting the dots’ and was beginning to see things in a new Light. Once having grasped the connections, it was easy to see how things play out in all kinds of situations. What grips society today is fear and greed and what we think and do personally has far reaching effects, influencing our lives in every way.

As a society, we fear: terrorism; poverty; dis-ease; death; what others say or think. We feel unworthy unless we have something material to show or approval from the outside. A society that has become so fearful has lost sight of its own radiant Light, its connection to Source and is clearly attracting jolts to bring it back into view.

But we don’t have to have the jolts. We can bring it back and will, by taking heed of what’s going on within each of us. By acknowledging that fear and anger inside of us is co-creating events not so pleasant. We must stop being surprised at events like a financial crash when we have only propped the institution up in the first place. We must take heed of the hideous diseases we are creating and begin to love and respect each other and ourselves. We must have the courage to acknowledge and change a sick ‘healthcare’ system that serves only the greed of a few, in the full understanding that there is little for ‘health’ in its structure. We must begin to respect our beloved planet before we can expect her to give us her best. We must see all as One before we can move from poverty to abundance and we must educate to instill values and widen the perspective of our young, empowering them with wisdom to use their gifts and talents for the good of all.

Our world functions at it’s best when it is in balance and so do we. When there is balance there is enough for all: more than enough for every one’s need, not enough for every one’s greed. As co-creators of our world, we have our role to play. If we play it responsibly, we inevitably receive in proportion to what we have given; when we do so through replacing fear and doubt with a wholeheartedness and confidence, we receive so much more!

To do this we must align mind with heart. Connect the dots, for we are the dots, each dot outside connected to its counterpart within, each one of us connected to the other. They will lead you to a deeper understanding of every situation.
